A diabetes awareness day
Professor Boudjit Kamel, organized today an awareness day on diabetes, with the participation of the Preventive Medicine Units of the university residences Maâlma 1 and Maâlma 2, as well as the Algerian Red Crescent.
This initiative was carried out for the benefit of students, faculty members, and administrative staff, as part of our annual program aimed at promoting health awareness within the university environment.
The event witnessed a remarkable attendance from various members of the university community. The program included specialized medical lectures delivered by experts and physicians on diabetes and its prevention, in addition to a free blood sugar screening campaign for participants.
Height and weight measurements were also provided to determine whether the individual’s weight is normal, average, or tending toward obesity.
The awareness day also featured health guidance on prevention methods, healthy nutrition options, and the importance of physical activity in avoiding complications of the disease. Informative brochures were distributed to students, faculty members, and staff.
This activity forms part of the efforts of the National Higher School of Autonomous Systems Technology to promote a culture of health prevention and to strengthen a safe and sustainable university environment that meets the needs of its community.
