First Humanitarian Initiative: IEEE Student Branch at the Nursing Home of Dely Ibrahim
As part of strengthening the values of social solidarity and community responsibility, and under the encouragement of the Director of the National Higher School of Autonomous Systems Technology, Professor Kamal Boujit, the newly established IEEE student branch launched its first field humanitarian initiative, coinciding with the blessed atmosphere of the holy month of Ramadan.
On this occasion, members of the IEEE student branch carried out a special visit to the nursing home in Dely Ibrahim. The aim was to build bridges of communication between the younger generation and the elderly, spend meaningful time with the residents, and engage in friendly conversations in an atmosphere filled with warmth, appreciation, and compassion, seeking to bring joy and positive energy to their hearts.
The visit included a simple Ramadan evening gathering characterized by sincerity and warmth, where our students shared stories and moments of laughter with the residents. In addition, and in recognition of International Women’s Day, the team distributed symbolic gifts and small tokens of appreciation as an expression of gratitude and affection towards the mothers residing in the facility.
In line with ethical and professional principles, it was decided not to document the visit through photos or videos, out of respect for the privacy and dignity of the residents, and to ensure their comfort in an atmosphere of discretion and mutual respect.
This initiative reflects the true spirit of our students, particularly the IEEE branch members, who not only strive for technical and technological excellence, but also believe that the role of an engineer and innovator begins with making a positive and meaningful contribution to society.
It is worth noting that the IEEE student branch at our school aims, through its upcoming programs, to combine technological development with impactful social activities, in order to build a well-rounded student personality.
