Today, the National Higher School of Autonomous Systems Technology, under the leadership of Mr. Kamel Boudjit, organized a Breast Cancer Awareness campaign – Pink October as part of its Open House activities, under the slogan #BeAware.
The medical staff from the Zeralda Local Public Health Establishment, led by the Community Health Coordinator Dr. Zahra Adghar, along with a team of nurses and midwives, participated in this initiative.
Additionally, the team from the Preventive Medicine Unit of Maalama 1 University Residence, supervised by Dr. Fathallah Wahiba and Dr. Sara Bouras, contributed to the awareness campaign.
For Maalama 2 University Residence, the medical staff, composed of Dr. Haji Sayed Ahmed and Dr. Nesima Adel, with the support of psychologist Rabej Samia, conducted a practical demonstration of early detection for participants under 25, answered students’ questions, and explained the clinical screening method for participants over 25, while encouraging attendees to undergo mammography. Informational brochures were also distributed during the event.
At the conclusion of the awareness day, the Service of Scientific, Cultural, and Sports Activities awarded certificates of honor to the medical teams who participated in this initiative.
