Biography

Pr. Belal Alshaqaqi is a Professor of Electronics at the National Higher School of Autonomous Systems Technology (ENSTSA) in Algiers. He holds an Engineer, Magister, and Doctorate of Science degree in Electronics from USTO-MB, where he was promoted to Full Professor in 2021. Demonstrating a diverse academic background, he also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Oran 2, graduating as valedictorian.

His research and teaching expertise spans Electronics, Image Processing, Pattern Recognition, and Intelligent Transport Systems. As a Principal Investigator, he has led key research projects on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and holds two national patents (INAPI) for vehicle speed estimation and driver drowsiness detection.

A leader in academic governance and digital transformation, Professor Alshaqaqi has served as University Vice Rector at USTO-MB, is a Member of the National Digitization Committee, and has coordinated the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Chapter (Algeria Subsection).
